Soon.

This darling boy was given up at birth. No father’s name was given. His mother NEVER checked on him EVER. That makes me so sad. This may be the closest I will get to a baby picture. It was taken in 2002, when he was 5 years old. Wasn’t he the cutest! Here is my sweet boy at 9 1/2 in 2007. This picture almost got him a family. They even traveled all the way to Estonia to meet him, but he wasn’t meant for their family. This is one of the pictures Andrea took in August 2007.  I think she once described him as “walking sunshine”.  It will probably always be my favorite. My handsome prince in his pretty, purple princess pajamas. The picture isn’t the greatest, but I remember the moment. We were having so much fun! He is such a tease.:) His face isn’t too clear, but you can see him laughing. I can’t wait to hear that giggle again!

The Rest of the Mitten, Boots and a Cell Phone

November 29, 2009

Its been a busy week. I finished my third caregiver wrap and started on the fourth. Then I finished the first mitten and started on the second.:) Yesterday, I stumbled on $5 boots at WalMart-decent, waterproof, good to -5degree boots for $5!!! We’re going back to get a pair for Gavin. The boots are red and black so they also match the color scheme. I love that.:) At the checkout I saw a toy cell phone that I couldn’t pass up. One of the teen boys in Andreas’ groupa spent most of his time talking to “Natasha” on a toy phone. He was very funny, and acted just like a typical teenager flirting on the phone.:) If A doesn’t like it, we will just pass it on to Sander. I’ll try to post pictures of my knitting in case anyone might like to see it.

A Hat, A Coat, and part of a Mitten

November 20, 2009

For some reason, I haven’t been able to buy anything for Little Man. Several times I have picked out pj’s and outfits, but it never felt right. I would put them back. Part of the problem is that I don’t know what size to buy. I finally decided to go with 10/12′s. Gavin wears an 8, and Connor wears a 14 slim.  A has to be somewhere in the middle. I know he isn’t as big as Connor, and I think he is just a little bigger than Gavin.

Anyway, I walked into KMart on Tuesday night, and right beside the door was a huge sale rack of winter coats for 40% off.  The coats are not name brand, but the quality is as good as the ones I bought my other boys at JC Penney. It is nice and thick and warm with a zip out liner that doubles as a spring/fall jacket.  The real selling point, though, was the orange patches on the shoulders.:) It matches with the orange and red hat I knitted for him.

It is the little details like this that help me to see God’s hand in everything. Maybe it was just chance that the really nice, washable wool yarn at the dollar store only came in orange and red. Maybe it was just chance that the 40% off coats  only came in gray/orange and black/red, but I see it as just one more little blessing.  My Father really loves me, and cares about the littlest details in my life.

I love this boy.  He is perfect just as he is, but I can’t help wanting to make him look even better.  His hair is such a gorgeous, platinum blonde. I can’t wait to grow it out a bit. He also has tearduct problems that need correction. He will certainly look and feel better without sticky, itchy, red eyes. Then there is the dry skin, eczema and chapped lips. I’m aching to slather him in lotion and chapstick.  We are quite sure he will need glasses. I’ve been checking out the line of Specs for Us at our local VIP eyes, and they are so cute!  So, then I’ll fatten him up a bit, dress him in boys’ clothes that actually fit, and finally, I’ll be content.

Can’t Figure Out WordPress

November 2, 2009

I can’t seem to figure out how to put pictures and widgets on my sidebar. Also, every time I post a photo, it comes up public. I change it to password protected, but it somehow goes right back to public.  Frustrating. I’ll keep trying.

What I Learned Today

October 21, 2009

Today I finally got a call from Barbara.  She explained that 3 weeks ago she got an email from Estonia saying that our documents were done and on their way to the US. They still had not arrived on Monday, so Diana called Estonia. It seems that the documents were not ALL completed or not filled out correctly. The problem was fixed. Diana was told that the documents were already in the hands of FedEx. So, they really are coming!! Barbara promised me that she will copy and send them AS SOON AS they arrive, and after she has called to let me know, of course.:)

It seems that a judge in Estonia has already reviewed our petition and has recommended us as adoptive parents. This is why we had to wait for the judge to return from summer break.  Now, we will get our official referral and file our I-800. When the approval makes its way to Patrick at the US Embassy in Estonia, we can expect a 2 month wait for a court date.

I’m not sure if I like having tentative dates or not. In one way it is nice, but I know I can’t really count on it.  Finally, the end is in sight!

I’ll get some pictures posted soon.
